12 SLV baseball players named All-Southern Peaks League

ALAMOSA – The Southern Peaks League announced its 2022 All-League baseball team earlier this month with 12 players from the San Luis Valley being recognized.

Del Norte and Monte Vista both had four All-League players.

For the Tigers Ben Parra and Nick Atencio were both first team while Gage Trujillo and Tyler Gallegos were honorable mention.

The Pirates’ All-League players included Colton Mellott and David Clutter on the first team and Kaden Mellott and Antonio Hernandez named honorable mention.

Sargent and Center both had two selections.

The Vikings’ selections included Omar Hernandez on the first team and Alicia Rios on honorable mention. For the Farmers Wyatt Cross was first team and Burke Temple was honorable mention.

League champion Trinidad had the most selections with six. Eli Crosson, Tyler Velasquez and Rylee Montoya were all first team, and Isaiah Bowman, Joey Just and David Romero were honorable mention.

Rounding out the All-League team were four players from Custer County. Garrett Olomon and Ben Penkoff were first team and Aiden Zehr and A.J. Stoltzfus were honorable mention.
