2020 Property tax payment dates and information before, during and after COVID19
ALAMOSA — Alamosa County made the decision to waive interest on property tax that is due by April 30th until July 31st but this does not extend deadline. Details are as follows.
Property Tax Payment Dates per state statute 39-10-104.5
Property taxes are due January first for the previous year. Payment may be paid in two equal
installments or in one full installment.
Half Payment Option Deadlines
First Half: February 29, 2020
Second Half: June 15, 2020
Full Payment Option Deadline
April 30, 2020
When the tax amount is twenty-five dollars ($25.00) or less the half-payment does not apply, therefore
a single payment must be received by April 30. Payments bearing U.S. postmarks reflective of these
dates are acceptable. According to CRS-39-10-104.5 interest accrues at 1% per month.
DURING THE 2020 COVID19 PANDEMIC Governor Polis issued Executive Order
(EO) D 2020 012 on March 11, 2020 which allows the Alamosa County Treasurer
to suspend or waive delinquent interest that may accrue pursuant to the
provisions of§ 39-10-104.5. In order to assist those in our community who may be
in an economic downturn, Alamosa County has made the decision to waive
interest on late payments through July 31~ 2020. Alamosa County encourages
those who can to continue following the appropriate tax deadline dates above. If

All advertising and distraint deadlines and fees associated with delinquent taxes
before tax sale still apply. Delinquent advertising in the Valley Courier will still
occur per the deadline in September with the Tax lien sale to be held in
November .
