2nd Annual Taos Writers Conference to take place in July

TAOS, N.M. — SOMOS presents the 2nd Annual Taos Writers Conference on the weekend between the Taos Pueblo Pow Wow and Fiesta on the weekend of July 13 – July 15, 2018 in Taos, NM. With over 24 workshops in diverse genres including fiction, memoir, poetry, creative nonfiction, essays, and writing children’s books the conference will feature keynote speaker, Kate Christensen, on Friday evening, 7/13/18, with a reading at the Harwood Museum at 7 pm.

Christensen, from Portland, ME (formerly NYC) is the author of 7 novels and 2 memoirs and has won many awards, including the prestigious Pen/Faulkner award for her novel, The Great Man. Acclaimed instructors include Hampton Sides, pictured above (“The Art of Fact”); William deBuys (“The Writers Toolbox”); Allegra Huston (“Telling Your Story with Heart”); Mirabai Starr (“Sacred Flames: Writing your Story of Transformation”) and many more, including Sawnie Morris, Linda Lightsey-Rice, Connie Josefs, Sean Murphy, James Nave, Veronica Golos, Demetria Martinez, Cathy Strisik, Johanna DeBiase, Leslie Ullman, David Perez, Steven Schneider, Michele Potter, Jenny Kostecki-Shaw and Steve Fox.
