A special evening will support Adams State University students

ALAMOSA – A glass of wine when paired with the correct dish can bring about all the subtle flavors and delight the senses. The Adams State University Foundation Office has organized a wine pairing with uniquely prepared meals. The fundraiser, Grow Our Own - Farm to Table, will support student scholarships, and begins at 6 p.m. Friday, April 20, in the ASU Plachy Hall Field House.

According to Tammy Lopez, executive director of the ASU Foundation, the evening is all about having a good time in comfortable clothes. The cost of the tickets will include four different wine and food pairings and dancing to music by the Pueblo based band Radio Action. “We want the community to come out and enjoy themselves in a laid-back atmosphere,” Lopez said. There will be no auctions at the fundraiser. “Take a well-deserved night off, hire a babysitter and dance the night away.”

Sodexho, the Adams State food service company, will work with Valley Roots Food Hub, alongside with SLV Local Food Coalition, to provide local produce and meat. The Colorado wines will accent locally grown produce and locally raised meat. “Because the food is from San Luis Valley farms and ranches and the wine is from Salida and Canon City wineries, the event also supports our local economy,” Lopez added.

All proceeds will help fund scholarships for Adams State students. A cash bar will be available.
