The term known as adapting is something of a buzzword. It is a word that is used in a variety of ways under a variety of circumstances.
Adapting can mean anything from adjusting to having a new baby in the house to the way a landscape heals itself after a forest fire. While it is a concept that comes easier for some and harder for others, it still requires a choice. That choice can come on the heels of very joyful or painful circumstances.
Change is something that always comes. It is an element that no one can control. The truth is that there are many parts of life that are eventually going to look different. It is up to each of us as individuals to choose how we will respond to those changes. Those responses can be enthusiastic or hesitant or even angry depending on the situation.
While one cannot choose outcomes, they can make a happy situation even happier or a difficult situation better. It is a matter of perspective. I understand that it is sometimes hard to accept things that are beyond our control. However, there is lemonade that can be produced from the lemons of life.
We should always be grateful for the joyful moments of life. I know I certainly am. However, even in the trying times, we can be thankful for what can be learned through them. In the end, there is always a purpose.
