A Trail of Thoughts: Big picture

I am very thankful for the fact there has been a better snowpack this year, which will hopefully mean more water! While spring is practically here, there are still big snows that can happen. Not to mention, skiers at Wolf Creek have been very happy this season! While snow can provide minor inconveniences such as almost getting stuck in the driveway and temporarily knocking out the REC system from Moffat to Creede, I have to remember that it a blessing in disguise. More snow will eventually mean more grass for livestock, better crop irrigation, and less potential for fires. That alone is a huge plus in my book. There are lessons that can be learned from natural events such as snowstorms. While they are not always the most fun to drive in, they provide a far greater benefit in the end. I have to choose to remember that concept when I get easily frustrated. I have found that things do have a way of working out even when it seems there is no solution. You don’t see the grass at first, but it does eventually come. It is not hard to lose sight of the bigger picture at times. It is a reminder that we have to look beyond ourselves to the larger benefit for everyone.
