A Trail of Thoughts: Chasing the dream

There is a great deal that goes into making a dream a reality.  It is rarely easy. Achieving a goal can often be something of a struggle.

History is filled with dozens of individuals who were considered failures at one time or another. However, they were able to overcome and leave a lasting impact. Thomas Edison was considered “dumb” as a child, and yet, he went on to be one of the world’s foremost inventors. This is just one of the countless examples of individuals were successful because they chose to stay the course and ignore the voices of negativity around them. The results have often spoken for themselves.

Chasing a dream can often mean doing what is right, no matter what. It means being willing to put in the hard work to realize that dream... even if it takes some blood, sweat, and tears to get there. I have been fortunate enough to be able to realize some dreams, but I have to go through a learning process with each of my various experiences. One of the most important lessons has been the value of perseverance.

So, what does chasing a dream mean? It means rising to meet the challenge and not letting the naysayers pull you down. For me, the opinions of others do not define who I am or am not. I am still going stick with what I know to be true, and let the chips fall where they may. I have my faith, my family, and good friends. I know I can count on the support from each, and that is all that matters in my book.
