A Trail of Thoughts: Getting along

There is a chart- topping country song that was recently released that asks a simple question: “can’t we all get along?” In this day and age, that is a good question.

It doesn’t matter what walk of life one many come from, it is easy to see that there is a lot of division in this world. It seems that there is a need for “agreeing to disagree.”

I have found that when I focus on the common interests I have with others, it has made my life a lot more productive. Don’t get me wrong, there are beliefs that I hold that are not going to change. However, it does make more sense to me to have a cooperative attitude and work towards common goals that will be a benefit to others in the big picture rather than do nothing but argue.

This is something I’ve learned from my parents and other trusted individuals in my life and I am working on putting it into practice. Great things really can be accomplished when the choice is made to sit down and have logical discussions. Often, this can lead to results and perhaps even solutions.

In my experience, it has often made for much more positive environments and better outcomes.
