A Trail of Thoughts: Haste makes waste!

I’m sure many of us have heard this expression before. It is a reminder to take the time to do things right. Now this normally isn’t a problem for those who, like me, are a perfectionist. It can look like walking too fast and spilling your plate of food, or being in a hurry and making a critical error on a crucial report depending on the size and scope of the situation. Yes, haste can indeed make for waste.

However, this saying can go far beyond one little mess from time to time. Haste can also cause us to miss moments where we should perhaps pause instead. It is not a waste of time to be a listening ear or give a hug to that person that needs it. I don’t want to miss out on moments that are important therefore, I have to choose to slow down once in a while.

It can be very easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life. It goes back to that idea of being intentional. If you know of a situation that might need a little extra attention, take the time to care. Quite frankly, I think that is something that world could use a lot more of.
