A Trail of Thoughts: Humor is healthy

Comic relief can be a good thing. It is really something when an unexpected, funny occurrence can change the mood of an otherwise tense situation. These moments often come when we least expect them.

Life has a lot of ups and downs. Sometimes a laugh or two is healthy. In fact, the Bible even tells us that laughter is “good medicine.”

Every once in while, I experience one of those spontaneous moments that just makes me laugh. While I do not consider myself a “funny person,” I do have an appreciation for the value that humor has.

Life would get almost too heavy at times if we didn’t have humor. The reality is that there is nothing wrong with good, clean fun. There is nothing like laughter to lighten the mood no matter what the atmosphere and setting may be.

There is enough heaviness and hardship in this world. Quite frankly, a little more humor is sometimes needed. While there are times and places for solemn moments, there is certainly a place for those light moments too. I have learned to find the value in these moments, because they are often where memories are made.
