A Trail of Thoughts: Lending a helping hand never goes out of style

Simple acts of kindness can go a long way.

While I realize that statement sounds rather trite, it is still valid. The other night, the Denver news told the story of a man who desperately needed some help. This individual had gotten stranded on his way home. But, this was not just any trip; he had just returned from burying his son in Mississippi.

If that was not hard enough, someone had the audacity to steal his truck! The result was a long and likely miserable bus ride to Denver, where a storm caused him to be stranded on a cold night with nowhere to go.

It was at this point that the FOX 31 News Problem Solvers stepped in and helped him to get a comfortable hotel room.

While I am not necessarily a fan of that station, I found that particular story to be a very positive one.

It is as simple as helping someone in need. Kindness does not have to be some grand production. It can look like helping someone who is hurting and needing to know that someone cares.

I am a firm believer that lending a hand to those in need is something that will never go out of style.
