A Trail of Thoughts: Seasons

There are certain aspects that I like about each season. A new one is already rapidly approaching. The leaves are turning and the air is definitely cooler in the mornings.

The excitement of summer is now for the most part past. There is yet another new chapter that is beginning. When it comes to fall, there are all the usual things that come with it that I enjoy; the colors, pumpkin spice and, of course, watching football.

But these times of the year are really about so much more than that. The changing of seasons is a reminder that time keeps moving forward, and that I need to be grateful for each day. I frequently remind myself that some of the most important parts of life are about my family and friends and the time I get to spend with them.

Life has many changes and ups and downs but I am convinced that they happen for a reason. Part of that reason is to remind us about what really matters. For me, at the end of the day I do my best to choose to be thankful for what I do have. This country and this valley both have so many blessings that other places and people groups don’t. For that alone, I would think we can all have a degree of gratitude.

I am finding that life is too short to focus on the negative. I will continue to work on being grateful because I know that seasons can pass all too quickly. I will enjoy them while they last and be glad for them even after they have gone.

The good thing about seasons is that there is always a new one ahead with new possibilities. Life would be rather dull without them.
