A Trail of Thoughts: Too early to give?

Before I begin, let me be very clear that I will never apologize for what I believe. With that said, I will move on to other matters.

As crazy as it sounds, the holiday season is close at hand! October seems to be the time of year where the debate about Christmas decorations etc. inevitably ensues. How early is too early? While there are dozens of answers to this question, I think that bringing Christmas items in the store wait until at least November.

It seems like the marketing ramps up earlier with every passing year! Don’t get me wrong; I love the holiday season. I’m not the kind that keeps decorations up all year long! I, for one, certainly enjoy the anticipation of receiving presents; however, the holidays are also about giving.

After all, the Bible does tell us that it is more blessed to give than to receive. In the big scheme of things, helping those in need is admirable no matter what time of year it is. I have heard countless stories of how those who have given are blessed in return. In these trying times that we live in, lightening someone’s burden can help to make the work just a little brighter. This simple truth can point one back to the real reason for the upcoming season. It leads to hope that is there for those who choose to embrace it.
