Adams State Artist in Residency Program hosts events

ALAMOSA – Adams State University’s Art in Residency Program will host two upcoming events on November 7 and November 28.

A concert by Franklin Stroble begins at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, in Richardson Hall Auditorium. The performance will feature works for band, horn solo and band, as well as a variety of chamber works. Stroble received a Bachelor of Science in music education from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. He is one of the founding members of the Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey and served two terms as assistant conductor of the Wind Symphony of Southern New Jersey. He has also written a variety of songs for Wind Ensemble such as Christmas Kaleidoscope and has performed alongside other artists such as Ella Fitzgerald.

Lily Kuonen will host a free public postcard-making workshop created from her Mail Art Project. The workshop will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Visual Art Building room 230. She has a Master’s in Fine Arts in painting from Savanah College of Art and Design. Currently, she works as a foundation coordinator and associate professor of art at Jacksonville University in Florida. She has exhibited artwork on three different continents, four countries, and 18 U.S. states. She has presented her work at 20 visiting artist lectures and workshops.
