ALAMOSA — Adams State University’s 2018 Women’s Week, March 5-9, has adopted the theme of International Women’s Day: #PressForProgress. The theme calls for continuing efforts toward women’s equality. Adams State events also are related to the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements that advocate an end to sexual harassment and assault. Information about local resources will be available at each event. All events are free and open to the public. Free parking after 5 p.m. is available in the McDaniel Hall parking lot on First St.

International Women’s Day, March 8, will feature presentations by students in the Women’s Studies course, with topics ranging from “Women of Sanctuary” and “Black Women in the Black Panthers” to “Tattoos and Piercings: Are they gendered?”
