Adams State Jazz Concert will feature Chris Wabich

ALAMOSA – The Adams State University Music Department Jazz Collective Concert, featuring guest artist Chris Wabich, will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in the Richardson Hall Auditorium.

The Jazz Collective Concert will include Downtown Jazz, Uptown Jazz, 68 West, and the Rocky Mountain Pan Handlers Steel Band. These groups will perform music from 20th century jazz standards to modern day hits by Santana, Radiohead and Van Morrison.

Chris Wabich, Los Angeles based drum set and steel pan artist, will perform with the jazz and steel pan groups. He has performed with Ludacris, Sting, Leonard Cohen, Stanley Jordan, Brian Johnson (AC/DC), Sheila E., Mark Murphy, the Zappa Family, Larry Koonse, Turkish superstar Omar Faruk, Boogsie Sharpe, Prog Rock legends Kevin Ayers (Soft Machine), Mike Hoffman (Tony Williams Lifetime), and Richard Sinclair (Caravan). Wabich is also the Director of World Percussion and Drumkit at the University of Arizona, Tucson.
