AHS Football to honor 2001 State Champs for homecoming

ALAMOSA — The undefeated Mean Moose Team that went a solid 14-0 on their  way to a state title over the then-favored Fort Morgan Mustangs snapping a 52-year championship drought on the gridiron has been invited back to Alamosa.

On October 8, Alamosa will pay homage in honor of the 20th anniversary of the momentous occasion. State Champions from that team are invited to Alamosa High School Stadium for the 2021 Moose’s Homecoming bout with Bayfield.

Events for the night include a Homecoming tailgate party on Friday, Oct. 8 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. (or until the food runs out) before the football game.  Free hotdogs, chips and drinks will be served in front of the stadium. Immediately following will be the 2001 State Championship ceremony taking place at 6:30 p.m. before the game.
