AHS Speech Debate team competes at state

ALAMOSA — The Alamosa High School Speech Debate team competed at the CHSAA State Festival Forensics Tournament in Littleton this weekend. 

Seven students competed in nine events at the competition, led by Team Captains Clayton Longfellow And Danielle Daboll. During two days of competition with schools from across the state, six of them advanced to semifinals, and four to final rounds in their event.

In the end, three of the team have qualified to attend the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions in Omaha this May. Senior Danielle Daboll is the new State Champion in Program Oral Interpretation.

Other winners include: Emelia Abbey, semifinalist in Original Oratory; Nicole Miller, semifinalist in both Impromptu Speaking and Humor Interp; Lisa Marie Mix, sixth in Dramatic Interp;  Edynn Quinn Lucero, third in Humor Interp; Reid Strieker, third in Informative Speaking; and Danielle Daboll, State Champion in Program Oral Interpretation.
