Alamosa Commissioners to honor retirees at meeting

ALAMOSA — On Wednesday, at the Alamosa County Board of County Commissioners meeting, Sheriff Robert Jackson will recognize the retirement of Judy Jackson from the department. Assessor Sandra Hostetter will recognize the retirement of Betty Arellano.

Other items on the agenda include:

Commissioners will discuss the extension of a contract with Avenu Insights and Analytics for the next three years. The cost for 2024 is $57,651.72, in 2025, $60,534.24, and in 2026 $63,560.88. The contract is for, "Application Hosting and Technology Support Services."

The county will also discuss an agreement with the Colorado Statewide Internet Portal Authority.

The Alamosa Weed Control District will have a report for the county commissioners.

The County Treasurer will have a semi-annual presentation.

A notice from the Colorado Department of Human Services to the County Human/Social Services regarding certification will be discussed.

A public hearing to discuss the 2023 budget, "A resolution appropriating additional sums of money to defray expenses in excess of amounts budgeted for the County of Alamosa," including an increase for the Road and Bridge Fund by $10,955,000 from $3,689,393 to $14,684,393.

The Peace Officers Behavioral Health Support and Community Partnerships grant program within the Department of Local Affairs will be discussed.

Will Hickman from the San Luis Valley Regional Airport will have a work session with commissioners to discuss proposed parking fees at the airport in the afternoon.
