Alamosa County sheriffs honored for service

Three members of the Alamosa Sheriff’s Department were honored by Sheriff Robert Jackson with Lifesaving Awards on Tuesday morning. On Saturday, July 20, Sgt. Sam Coffman (middle), Cpl. William Lucero (top), and Deputy Rio Machado (bottom) responded to 1819 Otter Drive for a male having a heart attack. Upon arrival, the male party was down and without a pulse. CPR was administered and maintained until the arrival of the ambulance. They continued their assistance until the party was delivered to the hospital. Their actions met the highest expectations of the law enforcement profession.
