Alamosa opens ArtScape Public Art on Loan Call to Artists

ALAMOSA — The 2nd Annual ArtScape Public Art on Loan Program has opened its Call to Artists for the 2018-2019 downtown business district exhibits.

Artists nationwide are invited to fill out and submit an application either through the City’s website www.cityofalamosa.org or through CaFÉ at https://www.callforentry.org. The application process opened December 11, and will close on January 15, 2018 at 11:59 p.m.

The City of Alamosa plans to designate 15 sites throughout downtown for display of public artwork. The artwork will be works from professional and amateur artists from around the nation.

Artwork will be selected through a jury process and once the final selection is made artwork will be displayed for a one-year period starting on September 7, 2018. The community will also have the opportunity to purchase artwork and to select their favorite artwork for a “People’s Choice Award.” The city will receive 20 percent of all art sales and this money will be reinvested into growing the art program.
