Alamosa Round-UP continues this weekend

ALAMOSA – The annual Alamosa Round-UP will come to an end this weekend at the Alamosa rodeo grounds.

The weekend’s activities will start at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with the mutton bustin’ and the open barrel race.

There are four age divisions in mutton bustin’ – four, five, six and seven-year olds. The top four in each age division will come back to compete on both Friday and Saturday.

The top performers in the open barrel race will compete on Saturday.

The actual rodeo begins on Friday with the slack to take place at 10 a.m. and the first performance at 6:30 p.m.

The slack will be timed events such as tie-down roping, team roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing.

The first performance will have timed events as well as the rough stock events.

Following the first performance will be the block party in downtown Alamosa.

The rodeo wraps up with the second performance on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. All events will take place on Saturday.

Following the second performance will be a concert by Justin Lawrence.
