Alamosa Seniors: Sign up for senior events, trips

Alamosa Senior Citizens are excited to welcome many new members! Membership is open to any person who is 50 years of age or older. Annual dues are $30 per person or if you wish to join at the Ambassador level, $100.

The following activities are offered weekly and we are always looking for new and fun activities to begin. I recently received a phone call from someone who moved here from Arizona looking for folks interested in learning Mahjong. Give us a call if that sounds like something you might enjoy and let’s get a group started!

* 8:30 a.m. Coffee Hour

* Billiards play

* Puzzle construction

* Dime Bingo, M-Th from 1-3 p.m. Free to members. Non-members pay $2.

* Free 5 Point ear acupuncture each Wed @ 10:30 a.m. for those 50 and over. After this treatment, you may find yourself less stressed, sleeping better, and less anxious. It has also proven to promote mental clarity, memory and energy.

* Dominoes - Fridays @ 12:30 p.m.

* Chair Yoga - Fridays @ 10 a.m. Yoga can benefit anyone, regardless of age, inflexibility or even disability. There’s a saying among yoga teachers that “If you can breathe, you can do some form of yoga.” For those who can’t get on the floor to do a traditional mat yoga class, chair yoga offers wonderful health benefits. Thank you, Chayne Boutillette! You are an awesome teacher!

* Fridays from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–2 p.m., Linda Falkenthal is available to instruct seniors in the areas of Computers, Smart Phones, Tablets, & Social Media. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us, Linda! Call or drop by to schedule your session.

Looking ahead into May and June:

This trip is also for those who prefer to stay and play at the Cities of Gold Casino. Cost for the trip is $25, and the museum is free of charge. Seating is limited so call soon!
