ALAMOSA — Amy McKinley, Alamosa County Treasurer, and Public Trustee, recently announced that her office will be closed on Monday, May 8, through Thursday, May 11, for Tyler Eagle Software Conversion training. It is a requirement of Tyler Eagle that the office they are training be closed to avoid interruptions while training staff. The software company requests to expedite training and conversion.

The Alamosa County Board of Commissioners discussed and approved this closure at its April 26 meeting. At that meeting, Commissioner Lori Laske thanked the treasurer's office for their diligent work on this software conversion

The office of the Alamosa County Treasurer and Public Trustee has used the Pueblo County VM software since 2009. Pueblo County software has provided, "Our office and the taxpayers a great service as the software does everything we need, and the customer support that a Colorado-based company gave us was simply exceptional,” said McKinley.

Pueblo County has discontinued this type of service which forced Alamosa County to search for and sign a contract with a new software company.

There are 40-plus counties in the state using Tyler software, and according to McKinley, "I am confident that once the conversion is complete, we will be able to serve our taxpayers in the same great manner as in the past. We apologize for the inconvenience of having to close, but in the long run, our software will be updated and hopefully provide a better service to our customers."

The software conversion will also require the office to be closed from July 24-27 and Aug. 14-18.
