Alexis Randi Duran

SANFORD — Colorado Springs former Sanford resident Alexis Randi Duran, 24, went home to be with the Lord on September 23, 2020. Born on September 1, 1996, in Alamosa, Colorado, the beloved daughter of Max Duran and Emma Lucero Duran. She devoted her life to being the best daughter, wife, mother, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend she could be. She enjoyed playing softball, being with family, painting, gardening and tending to her flowers, reading, going hunting and camping. Alexis absolutely loved and cherished the time she spent with her three children and her husband. Alexis was not here on earth with us as long as we would of all wanted her to be, but while she was here she left us with the memory of her selfless unconditional love, her contagious laugh and all the sweet moments each and every one of us shared with her. She is already so dearly missed.

She will live on through her husband Mikal Struble of Colorado Springs, CO; her parents Max and Emma Duran of Sanford, CO; her beloved children Ridley Struble, Malakai Struble and Elle Struble all of Colorado Springs, CO; sister Abigail Duran of Sanford, CO; grandmothers Veronica Lucero of Los Sauces, CO; Pat Duran of Alamosa, CO; great-grandmother Lucille Lucero of Sanford, CO; uncles Eli Lucero of Los Sauces, Joe Lucero of Denver, Derrick “Kiko” Tafoya of Denver, Daniel Duran of Alamosa, CO; Uncle Jeff, aunts Starla Duran, Jenny (Daniel) Casados, Hope Salazar, Stephanie DeHerrera, Athena Duran of Alamosa, CO; best friend Lindsey Sandoval, mother-in-law Mandy (Nick) Kellaway, sisters-in-laws Heather (Jason Hains) Struble and Ciera Struble. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alexis was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Randy Lucero, paternal grandfather Greg Duran, great-grandparents Emma and Jose Archuleta, great-grandfather Gilbert Lucero and grandfather-in-law James Taylor.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020, from 1-5 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020, at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, September29, 2020, at 11:00 AM also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Gate to Heaven Cemetery in Los Sauces.
