Amadeo “Pete” Montoya, 76, entered heaven on October 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born to Juan and Vicentita Montoya in Mesita, CO, and resided in Santa Fe, NM for the past 47 years.  He was a proud Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife Beverly, and their children Alex (Tracey), Tammy (Eric), Valerie, and Lisa (Raul), 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are four sisters; Gloria Maes, Maria P (Pat) Bradley, Madlene (Jim) White and Inez (Raul) Gonzalez, and three brothers; Joe (Orlinda) Montoya, Donald Montoya, and Anthony (Barbara) Montoya. Pete was preceded in death by his mother, Vicentita and father Juan, as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dora and Stanley Medina.  Also preceding him in death are sisters Ignacita Rael; Adelina Segura; and Estrella Montoya and brothers Gilbert J Montoya; Alfredo S Montoya; Orlando J Montoya and Larry F Montoya

Services will be held at San Isidro Center in Santa Fe, NM on Friday, October 20, 2017. The Rosary will be at 10:00 AM and Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will be held after at the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  He will be laid to rest at the San Acacio CO Cemetery, on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. with full military honors.   A luncheon will follow at the Blanca/Fort Garland Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gerard’s House.
