Amarah's Corner: Sharing Frank Reed’s dream

“Love GOD, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got! Write these commandments that I’ve given you today on your hearts. Get them inside of you and then get them inside your children. Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home or walking in the street; talk about them from the time you get up in the morning to when you fall into bed at night” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7, The Message Bible).

Mr. Frank Reed

I met this amazing man a few days ago.

Mr. Frank Reed is the CEO/President of Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center in Hico, Texas. Mr. Reed is a Vietnam veteran, and served with the Kilo Company, Second Platoon, First Marines in 1967 with distinction in combat operations against Communist Insurgent and North Vietnamese; notably in the area of the north bank of the Cua Viet River and the Demilitarized Zone. Through his loyal and courageous service, Mr. Reed made a significant contribution in shaping the destiny of our nation in the highest traditions of the United States Marine Corps.

First and foremost, Mr. Reed believes in God and credits Him for his success in sobriety, his success in business, and openly subscribes to Mark 11:24 where Jesus said, “Whatever you ask for when you pray, believe you receive it and you will have it.” Mr. Reed encourages everyone to pray and meditate on God’s Word and to listen when God speaks. How else will we hear Him if we don’t pray and meditate on His Word? I understand this and I’m so excited to find someone else who understands this truth and is not afraid to say it!

Mr. Reed is retired and has been sober since January 7, 1987. Mr. Reed devotes his time and energy into the Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center, which was his dream since his recovery began. Mr. Reed’s mission is to help other alcoholics and addicts build an unshakable foundation for life and to help them become productive members of society once again, or for the first time.

Also, Mr. Reed became certified in Equine Growth and Learning Association Psychotherapy and is a member of The Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association as an associate of EAGALA, July 2010.

God gave Mr. Reed a vision. God said, “Frank, I want you to build a fourteen-story building for the elderly people, and the orphaned children. Inside, it will have its own clothing store, bakery, dentist, doctor, nurses, hospital, bank, grocery store, restaurant and a dining room. On top of the building you will build my church. The name for the church will be ‘For God’s People Only.’ Adjoining the main building will be the Elementary School and a Vo-Tech Trade School. You will call this the Touchstone Ranch Christian Foundation.”

“You are going to give the children a good and safe home as well as good schooling. After graduation from high school, we will send them to any university that they want to go to, or they can go to our trade school. When they leave the Christian home they can become productive members of society.”

“The elderly people will pass on their knowledge to children. The women can teach the little girls to sew, cook, bake, etc. The elderly men can teach the little boys how to work, etc. And, when the elderly get to where they are bedfast or in the hospital, they will know that they will be taken care of by our own doctors and nurses.”

“The elderly people and the little children need the most love and care.”

God said, “Build homes for the children and the elderly people where they can be together. Take care of them because they are His joy and you will have God’s favor.”

“When you teach the children to say, ‘Hallelujah,’ the whole Heaven shakes from God’s laughter and joy, and God will be pleased with us. My goal is to make God Laugh.” ~Frank Reed
