Andrew Anthony Mang Jr.

We are sad to announce the passing of our father Andrew Anthony Mang Jr., 86 of Blanca. Colorado. He was born to parents Andrew A. Mang and mother Iona M. (Van Ells) Mang on January 10, 1935. He peacefully passed away surrounded by his family in Glendale, Arizona on August 10, 2021 where he resided, but Blanca was always his home. Andy graduated from Blanca High School and furthered his education at Adam State College graduating with a degree in Business, while attending college he was on an athletic scholarship for football and baseball. He went on to play for the Brooklyn Dodger Organization from 1955 to 1957 as a pitcher until an injury sidelined his career. He taught business and basketball in Cotopaxi, Colorado, after serving in the U.S. Army. He then picked up the family and moved to Arizona to pursue his ambition to become a full-time farmer. There he resided and raised his family until he retired from farming and heavy equipment operating at age 69. He was a great father and example of hard work and responsibility to his family. He is survived by his three children Tony Mang of Litchfield Park, Az, Tracee Hodges of Glendale, Az and Teri Reyes of Chino Valley, Az as well as 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at 1pm on August 10, 2022 at the Blanca Cemetery to fulfill his wishes to be brought home.
