Our brother Andrew passed away peacefully at his home in Mesa, Arizona surrounded by family.

Andrew was a longtime resident of Alamosa where he developed many friendships.  While in Alamosa he was a regular participant in the Special Olympics and it was there that he developed his love for basketball and bowling.  In 2018 he moved to Mesa, Arizona to live with his sister Nora and his niece Darcy. 

Our brother is best known for his caring, sensitive and grateful heart.  He loved to make people laugh and always brought an encouraging word to lift others up.  Andrew was gifted with an uncanny and strong sense of empathy for others.  He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and although he loved a variety of music, he loved to listen and sing songs of Elvis Presley.  

Andrew was preceded in death by his father Sam Griego and his mother Janette Griego.  He is survived by his sisters Nora Flavin and Barbara Jones and his brothers John, Joe, and Lenny Griego.

A church memorial service will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday, September 30 beginning at 9:30 with a rosary and 10:00 with Mass.  A private family reception will be held following the graveyard service.
