Anna Lee McGinnis, 91

Born Anna Lee Kuykendall to Harry and Mabel Kuykendall in Rio Arriba County at home in the town of Tres Piedras, New Mexico on May 18, 1926.  Anna Lee died October 5, 2017 in, Deming NM at age 91.

Anna Lee is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, her husband, James Keith McGinnis, son, Bill Mosely and grandson, Bobby Denshire.

Mrs. McGinnis is survived by her son, Mike Sawyer (Carol) of Los Lunas, daughter, Vicki Denshire (Cliff) of Deming; son, James McGinnis (Tammy) of Manassa; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McGinnis spent her formative years at Harwood girls school where she learned to sew, crochet, cook and numerous other life skills. Her family was involved in the logging industry in Tres Piedras (TP) with family members still in the industry.  

She enjoyed collecting dolls many trips with her father selling produce from a truck. She also enjoyed many trips selling jewelry with her mother in AZ, NM, CO, and TX.  Keith and Anna Lee operated a curio shop in Albuquerque.  Keith was an Engineer with Santa Fe Railroad which took them to Hurley, Bayard and Silver City.  Her and Keith spent some time drilling for Joy Drilling and Hoyt Drilling.  After spending time enjoying sightseeing in several western states.  Keith and Anna Lee McGinnis moved to Deming 14 years ago from Manassa, Colorado to escape the cold weather.  

A graveside memorial will be held in Manassa, Colorado at 11 o’clock Saturday October 14, 2017 followed with inurnment of her ashes there.
