APD busts another alleged drug operation

ALAMOSA– Two more arrests were made Wednesday as the Alamosa Police Department continues it crack down on suspected illegal drug activities in the city.

Benjamin Sanchez, 36, and Kenneth Salazar, 37, were taken into custody after a search warrant was served at 708 11th Street in regards to complaints about illegal drug activity. While executing the search, APD detectives contacted five subjects within the residence as well as heroin, methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, U.S. currency and numerous items used to distribute narcotics.

Sanchez was transported to jail on charges of unlawful distribution of schedule I and II narcotics, which is a class 3 drug felony and possession of a controlled substance schedule I and II which is a class 4 drug felony. Based on the items located by APD Detectives, it is alleged Sanchez was distributing heroin, methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl from the residence.

Salazar was transported to the Alamosa County Detention Center for an APD active domestic violence arrest warrant.
