Arrest warrants issued for three in Fritz murder

ALAMOSA — On October 29, felony no bond warrants were issued for Shem M Brown, 26, Robert P Martinez, 29, and Shawndon J McVey, 25, in connection with the August 9th murder of Mathias Fritz, 40, of Alamosa and assault and shooting of Alma Salazar.

Information was obtained from Crime Stoppers which led to the identification of the three suspects, and multiple search warrants were served on Facebook and cell phone accounts which provided information to charge the three with murder in the 1st degree, kidnapping, robbery, felony menacing, and multiple crimes of violence enhancers. The investigation has been completed by the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office, investigators from the Colorado State Patrol, and agents from the Colorado Bureau of Investigations.

Multiple pieces of evidence are being analyzed at the Colorado Bureau of Investigations crime lab. Investigation continues as more search warrants will be obtained and other suspects identified and charged.

Robert Martinez is in custody in Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office, and Shawndon McVey was taken into custody in Colorado Springs by agents from CBI.
