ASU baseball offers camp

ALAMOSA– Adams State University Baseball program will be hosting a Player Prospect camp for student athletes which will have an instructional session along with drill work to show case each player’s skills and allow the coaches to see how each individual player takes instruction/advice.

The camp will be Saturday, June 24 with a 9:30 a.m. check-in and start time of 10 a.m., wrapping up around 2:30 p.m. all at the ASU baseball field. The fee for the camp is $50, payable by cash or check only.

There will be a morning and afternoon session that will have evaluation in the morning including a pro tryout format. There will be timed running, defensive drills and situational sets and will conclude with live batting practice.

After a lunch break there will be a controlled scrimmage with the pitchers throwing live to the offensive players. The day will conclude with a short speech from ASU athletic directors along with the coaches and the director of housing for the campus.

At lunch one of the coaches will give anyone that wants a tour of all the athletic facilities as well as the academic and housing parts of campus.

Participants will need to sign an athletic release at registration and must have a parent/legal guardian sign in that person is under 18 years old.
