ASU swears in first female police chief last week

Adams State University Police Chief Erika Derouin was sworn in on Friday, April 19, by President Cheryl Lovell and Vice President for Student Services Ken Marquez. Derouin is the first female to serve as Adams State’s Chief of Police. She began working in the Adams State Police Dept. in 2015. She has been an officer for almost 20 years, including serving in New York for 12 years as an officer, a detective and acting supervisor as well as serving 3 years in Florida as an officer.
