Denver former Alamosa resident Azucena Paredes-Valenzuela 20, passed away June 21, 2017 in Denver. Azucena was born on March 2, 1997 in Sonora, Mexico, the daughter of Adolfo Paredes Yocupicio and Julia Valenzuela Alvarez. She was an outgoing, loving and compassionate daughter, sister, cousin and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family, she had a passion for learning new things. She enjoyed reading and interacting with people and making new friends.
Survivors include her parents Adolfo and Julia Paredes of Alamosa, CO; brother Jesus Antonio Paredes-Valenzuela of San Luis Rio Colorado, MX; sister Nubia Zenayda Paredes-Valenzuela of Alamosa, CO; grandmother Salvador Yocupicio Leyba of Sonora, MX. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Azucena was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Jesus Paredes, maternal grandparents Luciano and Julia Valenzuela.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 1-3 PM at Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. A Rosary will follow at 3PM June 29, 2017 at Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Interment will take place in Mexico. The care of arrangements have been trusted to Romero Funeral Home of Alamosa.
