Body identified as ‘Teo’ Greer

APD investigating as possible homicide

ALAMOSA– Alamosa police are investigating the discovery of a body at 1002 State Avenue on Saturday as a possible homicide according to a press release from the APD on Wednesday.

The deceased was confirmed through autopsy to be Teoxiuitl ‘Teo’ Greer, 45, who apparently resided at that address. He was the subject of a standoff with law enforcement on April 26, 2019, at that same residence.

Officers responded Saturday afternoon to 10th and State regarding a welfare check and discovered the body, then notifying the Alamosa County Coroner’s office to respond.

APD is actively working all leads regarding the decedent’s cause and manner of death. Police believe this to be an isolated incident with no active threat to the community.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim,” the APD release stated. “This investigation is still active and ongoing and more information will be forthcoming as it becomes available and is verified.”

Greer was arrested during the 2019 incident for resisting arrest and obstruction after barricading himself in the home four about two hours, threatening to douse himself with kerosene to set himself and the house on fire. The standoff began with Alamosa County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve him with warrants on two counts of failure to comply on misdemeanor drug charges and a third on failure to comply on a felony drug charge.

After the APD SWAT team was deployed, Greer crawled out of a second-floor window and jumped from the roof of a porch.
