Casa de Paz SLV’s putting on fundraiser for refugees

CRESTONE — Casa de Paz SLV is leading an art fundraiser in support of their mission.

The sale of a set of five cards and a painting auction are taking place now to fund efforts to provide post-acute holistic trauma support to asylum seekers waiting at the border in refugee camps and those who were recently released from U.S. detention centers.

The beautiful set of five cards depicting powerful messages for asylum seekers and the U.S. immigration policy created by Donna Strongheart Godwin are being offered for a minimum donation of $20, which will be shipped in mid-December, and will be offered through the end of the year and can be purchased here.

The painting auction, a painting also by Ms. Godwin, titled Strong Love is open for bids now.

Please email [email protected] to place a bid. Bids are open until midnight MT Dec. 15.

“The asylum seekers were so appreciative of the music, play and arts we brought into the refugee camp,” said Sonia Acosta, from Sonia’s Desk, Virtual Assistant Services for Soulpreneurs by press release. “When the asylum seekers were engaged in our classes and services they smiled, felt joy and shed tears.”

The heart of the artist, Donna Godwin, has been touched with compassion for the children and families in this humanitarian crisis at the border, and beyond. Through prayer, Godwin has been given art to create what reaches into the hearts of humanity. Her paintings inspire Hope for the hopeless, healing for the wounded and encouragement for all who view this beauty from her brush. One can find her on Instagram at @godw1nz.
