Cathy L. Salazar, 39

Denver resident Cathy Leray Salazar, 39, passed away July 24, 2017. Cathy was welcomed into the world on October 30, 1977 in Denver, Colorado; the beloved daughter of Leroy Salazar and Rachel Baca Salazar. After High School, Cathy went on to further her education in the medical field. She was a home health care provider for many years. She was united in marriage to Ronnie Madrid. Although her time here was not nearly long enough, Cathy made a lasting impression on everyone she met and who knew her. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed cooking, traveling, swimming, going camping, being outdoors; and above all spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband Ronnie Madrid of Denver, CO; daughter Nevaeh Madrid of Centennial, CO; sons Carlos Santillan of Stapleton, CO; Cameron Salazar and King Madrid all of Centennial, CO; sisters Misty Gurule of Alamosa, CO; Sammi Jo (Lenny) Salazar of Centennial, CO; Jessica (Rory) Archuleta of Rawlings, WY; brother Lucas Salazar of Denver, CO; grandmothers Angie Salazar of Alamosa, CO; Violet Baca of Denver, CO. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Rachel Salazar, grandfathers Mike Salazar and Richard Baca, aunts Corina Salazar, Eleanor Martinez and uncle Steve Salazar.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Los Sauces. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM also at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at the Los Sauces Cemetery at a later date. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Om Home of Alamosa.
