Celebrate BURN THE MORTGAGE! at Society Hall

ALAMOSA — Come on over to Society Hall, 400 Ross Ave. on Saturday, September 22, for a day of music, food, beverages and friends as we celebrate our third year with a fund raiser to BURN THE MORTGAGE!

We will have live music starting at 12:30 p.m. alternating between the Street Stage and the indoor Hall Stage. This is a free event to encourage donations such that we can pay down our mortgage on the Hall. No donation is too small, or too large, and all donations of $100 or more qualify for Enterprise Zone tax credits.  Complete information regarding donations and tax credits will be available on site.

The entertainment begins at 12:30 with our Valley favorite, Fred Hargrove performing outside on the Hall’s north patio. Fred is no stranger to the Valley, his rich baritone voice making everyone feel at home and enjoying old friends. Following Fred at 2 p.m. inside is the critically acclaimed trio, American JeM performing for the first time in the San Luis Valley. American JeM provides a bewitching vocal fusion of impeccable three-part harmonies. Jay Cawley, Ellie-Ellie and Michael Umphrey create a memorable musical experience rich in refrain, melody and emotional connection.

At 3:30 p.m. we’re back outside with Blue Rooster on the Ross Ave. stage. If boogie is your thing,..boogie is what John Hefty, Dale Smith, Eli Dokson and Peter Taylor are going to bring. Blues, rock and fun are going to be spread lavishly on us as our community celebrates! At 5 p.m. inside is the beautifully talented duo of Robin James and Mark Dudrow. Robin brings an incredible vocal range and powerful lyrics to the immaculate cello of Mark. Together they weave a beautiful tapestry of life’s love, letting go and giving in.

The Rifters take the Ross Avenue stage at 6:30 and you better have your two-stepping shoes ready. A regional powerhouse, Don Richmond, Jim Bradley and Rod Taylor bring a music style born in this high desert mountain landscape that impacts the soul just as deeply as our vistas. You do not want to miss them.

Following the Rifters is Chris Arellano performing inside at 8 p.m. A singer-songwriter form Costilla New Mexico, Chris weaves together the Norteno music of northern New Mexico with an alternative country and blues influences for his signature style he calls, Nuevo Americana.

This will be a great day of celebrating, creating and renewing friendships and just having a grand old time.

Bring a lawn chair and be ready to eat, drink and be merry this September 22nd. If you plan on having beer or wine be sure to bring your ID.

Society Hall is grateful and appreciative of the support from The City of Alamosa and the Alamosa Convention & Visitors Bureau. See you at the Hall!
