Center school board members seated

CENTER — Two new Center School Board members were sworn in Tuesday evening during a regular meeting after a school board election was canceled last month for lack of response to submit petitions to run for the seats.

Lloyd Garcia and Kim Duran, the only applicants for the vacancies, took their oaths of office, administered by J.J. Beiriger. They replaced School

Board President Yuri Cendejas and Director Richie Barela. Both had served in their positions for eight years.

The two new members signed

G. Lyn Bogle was elected Center School Board president Tuesday.

Center School Board members seated agreements that they would keep matters discussed in executive session confidential following their swearing-in ceremony.

The board then elected new officers. Lyn Bogle will serve

as board president, Misty Palacios as vice president and Kim Duran as secretary.

Superintendent Carrie Zimmerman presented Cendejas and Barela with memorial plaques for their service on the board. She commended them for their many accomplishments and community service. Both former board members said they will remain active in the Center community.
