Charles Curtis (Curt) Kaiser

Charles Curtis (Curt) Kaiser, age 73, passed away on July 4, 2022 in Stockholm, Sweden.

Curt was born on August 19, 1948 in Denver, Colorado.  He was the oldest child of Al and Charline Kaiser of Monte Vista, Colorado.  He attended high school at Holy Cross Abbey in Canon City.  He then studied at Adams State College, now Adams State University, graduating with a double major in Industrial Arts.

Curt briefly taught and coached at Brumfield Jr. High School in Monte Vista.  He left to farm with his father and eventually took over the potato and barley farm operations.  He met his wife, Patricia Miller, while teaching, they were married on August 11, 1973.  The couple welcomed four daughters into the world: Theresa, Katrina, Colleen and Michaela.

Curt was an active member of the community.  He served on the Colorado Certified Potato Growers Board, Sargent School Board and St. Joseph Church Pastoral Council.  He was a 4-H leader and BBQ volunteer for many years.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Kaiser of Monte Vista, four daughters: Theresa (John) Griffin of Monte Vista, Katrina (Geoff) Mack of Woodland Park, Colorado, Colleen Kaiser of Monte Vista and Michaela Kaiser of Littleton, Colorado, six grandchildren: Kyra, Liam, Callie and Elise Griffin and Braxton and Chloe Mack as well as a sister, Charlotte Anne Kaiser of Dodge City, Kansas.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 also at the church in Monte Vista.  Interment will follow services at the Monte Vista Cemetery.  Contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the Sargent Schools Education Foundation, in care of Rogers Family Mortuary.  To express condolences, please visit www.rogersfunerals.com
