CHSAA releases first softball polls of season

ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School Activities Association released its first softball polls of the season on Monday. The polls are posted on the CHSAANow.com web site.

While the Alamosa Lady Mean Moose are not in the rankings, three schools from the Tri-Peaks League are. Lamar is ranked third, La Junta is ranked seventh and Rocky Ford is 10th.

Eaton is the top-ranked team, followed by University, Lamar, Sterling, Strasburg, Limon, La Junta Fort Lupton, Brush and Rocky Ford.

Teams listed as “others receiving votes” include Lyons, Montezuma-Cortez, The Academy, Peak to Peak, Burlington, Hoyloke, Delta, Meeker, Weld Central, Faith Christian and Wiley.

Alamosa begins its season today as it will host Durango. First pitch at the Lee Field Complex is at 1 p.m.
