City accepts concrete replacement applications

ALAMOSA —The City of Alamosa Public Works Department will accept applications for the 2019 Concrete Replacement Program through May 9. The program is intended to assist home and business owners within the City of Alamosa replace curb, gutter and sidewalk in order to improve pedestrian safety and correct drainage problems.

This is a cost-shared program in which the city and the property owner share the cost of the contractor 50-50. Old concrete will be removed by the city at no cost to property owners.

The amount of city funds available for this program is limited. Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.

To participate in this program go to www.cityofalamosa.org and click on the Public Works Department tab.

On the right side of the page, click on Concrete Replacement. Fill out the form and return it to the Public Works Office, 300 Hunt Ave., or by emailing the completed form to [email protected].

The city will provide the property owner with an estimate of the work to be done by May 20. 

If the property owner accepts the estimate they must sign and return the agreement and a deposit equal to 50 percent of the owner’s total cost within seven days of receipt of the agreement.  All work will be completed prior to Sept. 26.

Final payments are due within 30 days of receipt of the bill.
