City Council to finalize measures tonight

ALAMOSA — The Alamosa City Council will meet Wednesday for their regular hybrid meeting with in-person availability at Council Chambers, 300 Hunt, as well as a Zoom webinar at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86494217747.

Items discussed at the regular meeting will cover two public hearings including Ordinance No. 14-2021, Parking of RVs anywhere on Residential lots, and Ordinance No. 15-2021, an IGA with the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office (ASO). Both items moved quickly through their first reading and will be open for public input tonight. To read both be sure to visit https://alamosa.novusagenda.com/Agendapublic/.

Also open to public input will be the Alamosa Main Street Design. City Manager Heather Brooks has made herself available with regards to questions, comments and concerns about the Main Street Design since the latest phase’s completion in early August.  And the city has been doing their best to keep the public informed. August 4th Alamosa City Council heard from Clark Anderson of Community Builders regarding the downtown revitalization plan. The following meeting on August 18, despite not being on the agenda there was a healthy portion of the public comment dedicated to the issue which Brooks once again took the time to address as well as share information. Now for the third time in the past 6 weeks Main Street Design again will be discussed. It will be on the agenda for Wednesday, with “Listening, Background and Discussion” listed items on the topic.

The final item on the agenda will be a consent calendar item as the City is expected to approve a special event permit for the upcoming annual Octobrüfest event in Alamosa.
