Clarence Edward Holland, 68

Alamosa resident Clarence Edward Holland, 68, passed away in Pueblo, Colorado on November 9, 2017.  Better known as “Ed”, he was born on December 1, 1948 in Denver, Colorado and soon adopted by Clarence W. and Mavis Holland.  Ed was married and sealed for all time and eternity to the love of his life, Lana Kay Morgan, on August 27, 1970 in the Manti, Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ed was an Automotive Parts Manager for over forty years of his life.  He was the Go-To Guy in Chevy Service if you ever needed anything.  When he wasn’t working, he loved to hunt, fish, and enjoy the outdoors.  He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in any sport they were in.  Some evenings, it wouldn’t be uncommon to find him kicked back in bed with a cold Pepsi in hand enjoying either one good show or giving the remote a workout flipping through the channels.

One thing that will always be remembered about Ed was his impeccable work ethic.  It not only provided a life for himself and his family, but that same work ethic was also bestowed upon his children and shines through them daily.  It didn’t matter how hard things got, he always taught them to keep pushing forward and to always strive to better themselves.  Ed left a lasting impact on his beloved family and has left a hole that will be nearly impossible to fill.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Lana Kay Holland of the family home in Alamosa; his children: Adelle Carbutt of Alamosa, Paul (Gretchen) Holland of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Kent (Lita) Holland of Vilseck, Germany, and Eric (Marcie) Holland of Pueblo, Colorado; his mother, Mavis Holland of Manassa, Colorado; his sisters-in-law: Mariam (Ric) Reynolds of Sanford, Colorado, Marilyn (Rick) Hillery of Logan, Utah, and Jolene (Jay) Reynolds of Mesa, Arizona; as well as seventeen grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ed was preceded in death by his infant son, Allen David Holland, his daughters: Jan Michelle Holland and Tracie Lei Holland, as well as his father, Clarence W. Holland.
