A classic automobile, believed to be a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro, was destroyed by fire Sunday evening after it suddenly erupted in flames. Capt. Zach Cerny of the Alamosa Fire Department (AFD) said the driver of vehicle, who was not identified, noticed smoke coming from the area of the gear shift, pulled over in the 1400 block of Ross Avenue in Alamosa and the fire began. AFD responded at 7 p.m. Sunday with one truck and five personnel and were on scene for over an hour dealing with a gasoline leak from the vehicle after the fire was doused.
