Cleo Marie Gallardo

ALAMOSA — Our Beloved Cleo Marie Gallardo, 85, went to be with the Lord and her husband on November 16, 2020, at the San Luis Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Cleo made her grand entrance into the world on February 24, 1935, in Alamosa, Colorado, the daughter of Meliton Lopez and Eliza Espinoza Lopez. Cleo was united in marriage to the love of her life Melvin Gallardo on October 5, 1952, in Taos, New Mexico. They shared a long and loving union until his passing in 2015. Cleo worked for the Alamosa School District for many years as a cook. She loved being around kids, people and making new friends. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Sacred Heart Parish, and the Alamosa Women’s Bowling League. She was an exceptional bowler and loved getting together with her friends on her spare time. Cleo was a devoted, selfless, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Cleo loved everyone and was loved by everyone, she inspired others with her undying faith. She will be dearly missed by all.

She will live on through her children Diane (Tom) Gaylor. Glenna (Jerry) Archuleta, Darlene Gallardo all of Alamosa, CO; Judy (John) Ortega of Santa Fe, NM; Dean Gallardo (Loretta DeHerrera) of La Jara, CO; grandchildren Lisa Gaylor, Steven (Dolly) Gaylor, Melanie Gaylor, Courtney Archuleta, Tanya Archuleta, Shawn (Vanessa) Archuleta, Matthew Gallardo, Leslie Ruybal, J.R. Sanchez, Zachary Gallardo, Dillon Gallardo, Drake Gallardo, Ashley DeHerrera, Lawliet, numerous great-and great-great-grandchildren, sisters Lupita Romero of Oracle, AZ; Rose Torres of Monte Vista, CO; sister-in-law Theresa Lopez of Alamosa, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents Meliton and Eliza Lopez, husband Melvin Gallardo, granddaughter Mercedes Salazar, sister Emelina LeFebre and one brother Meliton Lopez.
