Coleman named branch manager at RGS&L

MONTE VISTA — The board of directors of Rio Grande Savings & Loan Association is pleased to announce the promotion of Ty Coleman to the position of branch manager at their Alamosa office at 3416 Mariposa Street.

Coleman has a successful background in creating and promoting housing and business lending opportunities in rural communities throughout Colorado. He is also a professional speaker/instructor and has helped many people with their financial concerns by teaching financial literacy courses and homebuyer education classes.

“I’m happy and honored to be working for an association so dedicated to the community of Alamosa, and the San Luis Valley,” Coleman said. “Rio Grande Savings & Loan has demonstrated a real commitment to all of the communities it serves.”

Very active in Alamosa and San Luis Valley civic activities, Coleman serves as mayor of the City of Alamosa, and as Chairman of the Board for the SLV Development Resource Group. He is a facilitator for the Center for Restorative Programs, assistant coach for Alamosa youth football, an active member of the Alamosa Literacy Council and Kiwanis Club to name just a few.

“We’re very excited to have someone with Ty’s qualifications running Rio Grande Savings’ Alamosa office,” said Denise Heersink, vice president and chief lending officer of the Monte Vista-based institution. “His experience in finance, banking and extensive community involvement is a real asset to Rio Grande savings, not to mention the community as a whole.”
