Alamosa Mayor Ty Coleman reads a proclamation from the City of Alamosa in honor of Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday. Representatives from San Luis Valley nonprofits proudly hold their organizations' banners in spite of the chilly temperatures Tuesday morning. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day received a portion of the $1 Million Incentive Fund, which increased the value of every dollar donated. By press time, more than $34 million in donations had been made to about 2,480 organizations.
