Colorado State Fair entries accepted

PUEBLO – The Colorado State Fair’s General Entry Department provides an opportunity for all Coloradans to participate in the fair.

Registration fees range from $0 to $5. In all, there are over 1,500 classes in 12 departments. A full list of general entry competitions and special contests can be found at www.coloradostatefair.com.  Some categories, such as quilting, have a special theme and participants are encouraged to design according to that theme.  This year, the theme is “Starry Nights.”

Submissions for these competitions can be made online or through the fair’s General Entry office, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, or call 719-404-2080.

Artists throughout Colorado are busy preparing their artwork for the Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. All artwork chosen for the exhibition will be on display in the Fine Arts Building during the entire length of the Fair. Two divisions for artwork submission are being offered: Emerging Artist and Professional.

New this year, the Professional division has expanded from five to eight categories and are now painting, drawing and printmaking, sculpture, photography, digital arts, mixed media, fiber art, and jewelry/metalsmithing. This is consistent with the Emerging Artist division.

Artists may enter between now and July 27th, through the Fair’s General Entry office, call 719-404-2080, or online at www.coloradostatefair.com.
